The magical beach of Falasarna is one of the most beautiful well known beaches of Western Crete. Falasarna is located about 52 km west of Chania in Kissamos region at the end of the Gramvousa Peninsula. The region of Kissamos lies on the most western part of the island and its famous for its beautifull landscapes and its probably one of the most gifted areas of the island , since three of the nicest well known beaches all over the world are located on this region ( Falasarna beach – Gramvousa and Balos – Elafonisi beach on the south west coast ). As the local people like to say God must have been in an extremely happy mood when He was creating this region. Falasarna beach is the place that according to the Greek mythology if you swim in the turquoise crystal clear waters of the sea you will be blessed forever !!! The reason for that is , that Falasarna is the place where the three seas are met together (Aegean sea- Ionian sea- Lybian sea ) creating an exotic and exciting colour of the water. In the nearby valley the local farmers in the last sixty years have built a great number of greenhouses producing the famous local tomatoes and a lot of other vegetables that they are distributed through the island and the mainland the whole year around providing financial help and stability to the local community.
The colourful beach is sandy and stretches for about 3 kilometers from its Northest part to the little fishing harbor which is located at the very end of the beach. In the north part of the beach the visitor can admire the ruins of the ancient city of Falasarna . There are five smaller beaches connected to one another creating this unique and spectacular scenery. Falasarna beach hosts quite a number of stylish beach bars and tavernas with quite a few places with sun beds and umbrellas to help you relax and enjoy the crystal clear waters of this magnificent beach.

We start our beautiful tour from the centre of Chania at about 8:00 am in the morning and driving through Chrisi Akti – Ag.Apostoli – Kalamaki-Stalos-Agia Marina- Platanias-Gerani-Maleme-Tavroniti until we reach Kolymbari village , laying peacefully in front of Spatha peninsula. We continue our tour to the other side of Spatha peninsula until we are facing the tranquil waters of Kissamos Bay. Driving through small colourfull villages we drive through the small town of Kissamos, which is the biggest community of the area and also the financial and commercial centre of the region. Driving through the small harbour and after 10 more minutes of peaceful driving through olive groves and vineyards we find ourselves on the top of the plateau overlooking Falasarna beach and the valley beneath us . Descending our way down towards Falasarna beach we are enjoying magficent views of the beach and the valley itself, admiring the beautiful flora and fauna of the area. After a couple of kilometers we are reaching Falasarna Beach at around 10:20 am in the morning and we are staying there for 5 hours until 15:30 pm.
