Gramvousa Island & Balos beach tour

Welcome to Paradise of Gramvousa Island & Balos beach tour from Chania

Our daily morning tour to Gramvousa Island  & Balos beach tour is starting from Chania at 8.00 o’clock in the morning. We start driving along the Cretan Riviera towards  Stalos -Agia Marina – Platanias –Maleme-Gerani –Maleme and Kolimbari finally arriving at the port of Kissamos at approximately 9.45 am.

After your embarkation you will be enjoying a beautiful and pleasant voyage along the coast line of Kissamos Bay and Gramvousa Peninsula.

Sailing on your way out in the tranquil waters of Kissamos Bay  you can notice the phenomenon of land elevation by 6 to 9 meters above the sea level ,which is dated more than 2000 years ago. This is obvious only  in this particular part of Crete more than elsewhere on the island.

After one hour sailing time and upon your arrival at the island of  Gramvousa, our passengers have the choice of enjoying a refreshing swim on the crystal clear waters of the island, swimming and snorkeling around the old ship wreck or visiting the imposing Venetian castle, which is build on the top of a steep rock at 137m above the sea level and is reckoned to be as one of the most impressive castles in Crete. You can reach the castle in aproximately15 min by a foot path. Standing on the Castle you can enjoy breathtaking and magnificent views of the Aegean Sea, the peninsula and the Lagoon of Balos.

At midday and after have spending a couple of hours on the island of Gramvousa we sail again to Balos Lagoon where we will arrive 10 minutes later.

The Lagoon of Balos is a small shallow lagoon with warm water ideal for families .The views are spectacular all around the lagoon the Gramvousa island and the peaceful surroundings. The seabed there, is of white sand and makes the waters to have shiny jade like color.

During your stay at Balos lagoon and the island of Gramvousa you have full access to the bars and restaurants of the boat which stays with you at all time.

The departure of the boat from the Lagoon of Balos is on the early afternoon hours around 17.00 hours but, further and detailed instructions for all passengers are always provided by the crew on the boat.

After one hour sailing time saling through the Gramvousa Island  & Balos beach tour, we return back to Kisamos Bay where our bus will be waiting for you at around 18.00 hours to drive you back to your hotels.
